Terms of Service

Effective

These terms are an agreement between you and DocketWatch LLC (“DocketWatch”, “we”, “us”) for the DocketWatch service at getdocketwatch.com. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them. If you use DocketWatch for a company, you agree on its behalf.

What DocketWatch does

You give us a list of carriers by docket number (MC, FF or MX). Each night we read FMCSA’s public datasets for those carriers, compare them with the previous night, and email you a summary of what changed, with a link to each carrier’s FMCSA record.

The data, and your responsibility

  • Everything we report comes from public FMCSA data. We don’t create or correct it. It can be incomplete, wrong, or published a day or more after FMCSA records a change.
  • We check once a night. DocketWatch is not a real-time service and can miss or delay a change, for example when FMCSA’s data is unavailable or when we hold a night’s results because they look abnormal.
  • Before you rely on anything we send, for example to book, pay or stop working with a carrier, confirm it on FMCSA SAFER or with the carrier. You are responsible for your own decisions.
  • DocketWatch is information, not legal, insurance or compliance advice.
  • DocketWatch is not affiliated with the FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Your account

You sign in with a link we email you; there is no password. Keep your email account secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. Use an email address you control, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

Subscriptions and payment

  • Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
  • Your price is the founding price shown when you subscribed. It stays the same while you stay subscribed; price changes apply only to new subscriptions.
  • You can cancel anytime from the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.
  • Upgrades take effect immediately and the prorated difference is charged right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current period.
  • We don’t refund partial months. See the refund policy for details, including duplicate or mistaken charges.
  • If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while. If it still can’t be collected, the subscription ends and alerts stop. Your list stays in your account.

Acceptable use

Use DocketWatch for your own business. Don’t resell or redistribute the service, try to get around plan limits, interfere with the service or other customers, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.

Availability and changes

We work to keep DocketWatch running every night, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve features. If a change materially reduces what you pay for, we’ll tell you by email first, and you can cancel.

Disclaimer and limit of liability

DocketWatch is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the service or from decisions made using it. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using DocketWatch and cancel at any time, and ask us by email to delete your account. We may end the service for you with notice, or immediately if you break these terms; if we end it without cause, we’ll refund the unused part of your current month.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that isn’t resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and both of us consent to those courts’ jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We’ll change the effective date above and, for material changes, email subscribers before they take effect.
